Santander agreed our mortgage application yesterday, our broker said they will now go quiet for a few days as the valuation has been instructed and need carrying out. It's my understanding that Santander can still pull out at this stage though. Is the agreement now set in stone or is it not official until we get our written offer subject to valuation? Never done this before! thanks

Isn't this the kind of question you are paying your broker to answer?
It's unlikely they will pull out now but the values may alter if the valuation is not satisfactory.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -

They can pull out right upto the day you get the money and complete.0 -
that's what I thought, bah! although things seem to be moving rather quickly now, the valuation has been done and the mortgage offer has been issued, should be with us via post in the next few days :T:T:T0

I recommend taking up yoga or meditation. As the mortgage offer can be the least stress part of the whole process.
House purchase can throw up all sorts of scenarios and curved balls.0 -
When your offer does not arrive - do not panic. Santander offers are notoriously slow to arrive in the post.I am a Mortgage Broker

reYou are approved as borrowers, but the house has yet to be approved. Don't celebrate until you complete (or use your c-cards!). It's a GREAT feeling when you get the mortgage approved but it is a long, frustrating process. The mortgage isn't 100% until you get that call saying the keys are yours.
Fingers crossed and good luck
Upon re-reading.........brilliant!!!! glad it's all approved0 -
Well I thought everything had speeded up the valuation took less than 24 hrs and offer post out same day... But we're still waiting to receive it, all gone quiet again! Bah:eek:0
