    Your son is an imbecile.

    Here to help.

Or knows exactly what's what and wants his mother going round in financial circles so he can bamboozle her sometime in the future for his own gain. (He seems to have done it once.)

Then perhaps your son needs to spend a little time on his financial/mathematical education.
No. He needs to spend a lot of time on his financial education.
But, all the time he's got his mother bailing him out, he probably won't need to.
I can afford anything that I want.
Just so long as I don't want much.

    A fair point.

There's at least one imbecile in this tale.
"Facism arrives as your friend. It will restore your honour, make you feel proud, protect your house, give you a job, clean up the neighbourhood, remind you of how great you once were, clear out the venal and the corrupt, remove anything you feel is unlike you... [it] doesn't walk in saying, "our programme means militias, mass imprisonments, transportations, war and persecution."

Geez people, we get it, the OP made a mistake. Is it really necessary to keep going on about it?

If you think of it as the bank's money that your son received ( which it was) you have only paid out once - you paid (the bank) back the money that went to your son. HTH

Thanks for your kind replies ViolaLass and Chrystallady, the rest of these replies are very hurtful!

Don't be hurt, this is just how forums are, its hard to tell if someone is being funny or mean or nice or sarcastic!

There are questions along the lines of yours all the time from spammers and people just retort with nonsense responses.

Your question was a very simple one, you already knew the answer else you wouldnt be lending out big sums of money! Point still stands that your son needs to address his thinking in regards to money else you may be asked to lend another £10,000 in the very near future

I wrote out a genuine and detailed explanation for you. I'm sorry that you found my attempt to help you hurtful. It was never meant that way.

    day 1: Bank -£10k > you +£10k, son £0
    day 2: Bank -£10k, you £0 > son +£10k
    day 3: Bank £0 < you -£10k, son +£10k.
loose does not rhyme with choose but lose does and is the word you meant to write.
