Woolwhich V Leeds BS

Hello,
I have just discussed my options for a mortgage with a local broker and he has told me the only 2 lenders that can help me are going to be Leeds BS or Woolwhich.
Basically I have just has surgery and as a result have been off work however I receive 6 months full pay so my salary has not changed. I am due to return to work on 25th June.
Also... My wife has only been in her existing job for 3 months and has a 6 month probation. She has been continous employed for the past 3 year.
Taking those 2 into account the broker advised that Woolwhich or Leeds are my only real hope but explained he would never usually apply to either.
Which am I better going with?

All I can tell you is that the BS after Leeds does NOT stand for 'Building Society'.
Our experience using them was 3 months to get even close to a valuation.
If you want pain, hassle and trauma, and then lose your house when the vendor gets bored waiting, go with Leeds. Go on. I dare you.0 -

Leeds or Barclays...I do not envy that broker!
Thats like asking if you would prefer your left or right eye to be poked out.
I would take your brokers lead on which he/she thinks is the least likely to be painless.I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a mortgage adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Thank you ACG,
My broker did say he wouldnt usually go down this road but with there being sick pay on my payslip he says we have little choice.
He wants to go down the Leeds road because he spoke with their relationship manager and he said they seem to be a little more flexible and the relationship manager said they are currently looking for more business.
Fingers crossed0
