Will my DMP affect another family member's getting?

my wife has just told me that her son (not my son) is moving within his job and will be vetted. She has had to give him my details. Will my DMP have an adverse affect on his vetting? He is with the police .

Grateful for any advice.

No, your debt, not his, debt does not transfer between people.

Whilst true in regards to debt, it is not entirely true for vetting.

The extended vetting for the police checks the criminal records of close family and those who live in the same household and the vetting may include the financial position of family members depending on the job role.

Even so, since a DMP is a managed plan I doubt it would have any negative effect if your wife's son is applying.

There will not be any evidence of the DMP, as it is an unregulated agreement, it will not be recorded anywhere, to the casual observer, it will not exist.

It would certainly look worse if there were any CCJ`s etc for non payment.

Your financial situation will not effect his vetting, period. Your details are only required for checks to be made on previous convictions and checks made vial the intelligence services.
