in Cutting tax
Hi all I wonder if anyone can help. I left the RAF last September after 27 years and I started getting a monthly pension. I started a new job in January and get paid weekly. To me I think I am paying a lot of tax ( I bet we all think we do ) on both pension and my weekly wage. Is there anyway I can find out if I am or I could claim back or what I am paying is fair. Many thanks for your time and help

Sorry this is first thread. What facts0
-
How much is your pension, what are your wages and how much tax are you paying.
It is quite possible that your tax codes are wrong, but we do the above info to help and if you know your tax codes let us have those as well0 -
Do you have your P60s for the year ending 6 4 15?
What is current tax code for your RAF pension? And your current job?
Have you had a Notice of Coding?0 -
The PAYE tax you pay is governed by the code numbers issued by HMRC to your employers. You are informed of the code number issued to each of your employers by a coding notice (form P2), this explains in detail why your code is what it is. Your employers do not see this detail they are only advised of the final figure.
One last check, where there are two employments the rax code may be split and it is possible that the split has been made so that some of your allowances are unused so your income in each employment is relevant. The only thing that is constant is change.0
