Mine is a super-keen mr ambitious kind of guy. He's ok to work for if you are doing great things for his image but otherwise he lets me get on with what I want to.
If I could change 3 things it would be:
1) for him to concerntrate on 1 thing at a time (he hardly listens and is always doing something else when on the phone to you).
2) for him to turn up to the calls he sets up and expects you to turn up to
3) be more personable, he is 100% professional but often feels like we have no human connection.
He's only my boss for the next 4 weeks before I move on to pastures new and a new boss to work out!Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
To say my current line manager is a waste of space would be an insult to genuine wastes of space. Totally ineffectual and doesn't have a clue what is going on most of the time. At the leaving do for one staff member the line manager made a joke of the fact that the person leaving spent more time texting than working, and that telling them to stop it at numerous 1-2-1 meetings had had no effect. Says it all really.0

My boss is a great guy both personally and professionally. We fit well together because I am ambitious and like to take on projects, and because he has a really demanding role, he needs someone he can trust to take certain tasks off his hands. If anyone read my other thread about leaving, this is why it's a hard decision to start looking elsewhere.
If I had to change three things:-
1. Although I recognise he is busy, I sometimes wish he would make more time for the admin side as there are times when I can get so far, but need his sign off or his decision in order to progress.
2. He can sometimes be a little arrogant and think he is always right, but if he would sometimes see he isn't then certain issues could be avoided.
3. He can be a little too nice, sometimes I wish he'd be more forthright in certain situations.
I think I am lucky as they are really minor things to want to change!0 -
My boss is lovely and I wouldn't want to change a single thing about him. I love my job and am very, very happy working for him0

Are you your boss, by any chance?
' <-- See that? It's called an apostrophe. It does not mean "hey, look out, here comes an S".0 -
I thought you were asking about the missus.
I don't have a work boss.Liverpool is one of the wonders of Britain,

My current boss is a lovely person though not suited to the job. I would change the following about them:
-Take control, be a leader by directing people in the same direction
-Stop asking me to do stuff which then isn't used. (I've stopped staying late to meet such requests)
-Learn to handle conflict, they've been told twice before about dealing with individuals who are shouting at each other0 -
My team leader is a bit of a challenge. They have to now oversee 4 areas so never see them, but it's not a bad thing.
3 things I would change
1) for them to realise work time is work time and home time is home time. If you can't find the files/ don't know who is on shift/ wonder when the next appointment is it can generally wait until I'm next on shift and I shouldn't feel like the human directory enquiries for the company. I also get fed up of the texts for covering shifts half way over the county and phone calls about general rubbish as most of the time I come off the phone and don't have a clue why they rung me.
2) I wish they would stop mucking about with the rota. I get there's change with annual leave, but there's no need to change the sodding rota every blooming month. Plus don't moan when we have to change stuff when you send it out the Friday before it kicks in on a Monday. We aren't married to the job and like having a life too.
3) stop favouring certain staff. They couldn't get any further up one of thems backside if they tried and it makes it hard work for the rest of us. Plus it's all like being back to school.
I love the job, but boy i wish I could turn the clock back 18 months and get our old team leader back.
As the saying goes you don't know what you've got til it's gone!!:T:T  :beer::beer: to the lil one
