Hi all, hope you are well.
Over the last 6 years things have been rough. Through many things, myself and my ex partner ended up in massive debt. We ended up giving the keys back to our house to the bank so it was sold. We found a flat and were goimg to file together the whole debt issues made us break up after 12 years together. Over the last 3 years I have not been great and just put my head in the sand with regards to the debts. I stopped paying all debts as I could really only afford to support myself. Got some letters but actually no one has really bothered me. I think in total I owe 60k! I have spoken to advise lines in the past and they suggested bankruptcy would be best. I have now got my stuff together with a new partner and need to get this sorted. Question is, I opened a cash minder account with co op before me and my ex split up. As this account was Ok for bankrupt people, would it get frozen when file? I am worried about it as my rent, and utilities come out of there . I hava saved the fees so want to do it asap really. Also with the time I have left it, would that affect anything?
Any advise would be really appreciated.
Thanks
Warren

Co-op is normally fine if you file for BR as long as it's the Cashminder Acct. It shouldn't be frozen if you state on the forms that it's your every day account. The OR should then inform the Co-op that he has no interest in it. I didn't have any problems with mine last year.SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65
 SPC 9 (2016) #485 TOTAL £84

You could open a second coop account before BR (for budgeting) if you want. One for bills & direct debits and the other for every day. You get internet access with Co-op but don't mention BR. If you find you need another account after BR then Barclays will open a basic account but no internet.SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65

I opened a cashminder account while undischarged then another after discharge, I use the two manage my bills etc very well.
Always had the internet banking but they are slow...up to 24hrs in some casesI love green dots :T I hate red dots :mad:0

My cashminder account continued to run after I was made bankrupt
Their internet banking isn't as bad as it used to be, at least the balances aren't 24 hours behind anymore and they update in real time. Their banking app is much better than the browser based system.
I'm now discharged and enjoying mobile banking with Barclays now, which I must say is very impressive!0

            Hi Guys,
I have just signed my sequestration forms today. I have opened a cash kinder account around a couple of months ago. I am now wondering do I get my wages paid into it or my wife’s as I obviously want to be able to receive my wages and pay my monthly mortgage etc.
Any advice for me literally about to go bankruptcy (in Scotland)
 Thanks0
