Banbury to Oxford Transport...

Options
Hello all!
I need to get to Oxford from Banbury to start work at 6am on 2 days a week...I was wondering if anyone could help me on the best route to do this?

A friend suggested the oxford park and ride, but I don't think it runs before 6am!
Carparks are expensive, is there any I should look out for?

I am just worrying a bit now...the other days I can get the train but they don't run until after 6 :(

The 2 series of buses from Kidlington stop outside Water Eaton P&R and start around 5am

Parking either £2 or £4 depending on whether you go over 11 hours

In theory you ought to be able to cycle along the towpath between Banbury and Oxford. It's a fair way though and I really really wouldn't count on it being clear enough of overgrown bushes etc all the way. Also not going to be any fun in winter. Whereabouts in Oxford do you need to be? If it isn't city centre, you've a chance of reasonable parking at that time of day, and even if it is you could park outside the restricted zone and take a bus in/across Oxford.

Not sure what you are asking

I suggested the Water Eaton P&R where the buses do start early enough for you. It's where the road from Banbury (the A4260 then the A4165) crosses the A34

Kitty, are you sure? On weekdays I see the first First Great Western service leaving Oxford at 05:18 to arrive in Banbury at 05:47.

The OP wants to travel from Banbury to Oxford at that sort of time.

Read the post immediately before yours.

It is quite clear what was meant.
If you park at Water Eaton Park and Ride it will cost you either £2 or £4 depending on how long you stay, and buses pass the Water Eaton Park and Ride early enough for you..
