Query re Boots Advantage Points

Wasn't sure where to post this so hope this is the best place for my query.
I've noticed recently that I've been getting less points on my Boots Advantage Card. Both times I've been using a voucher that gave me extra points if my transaction was over a certain amount. For example, 250 extra points if I spend over £20.
I just presumed that I would get the usual amount of points (four points per pound spent) PLUS the extra points. I queried this with a member of staff who was also confused, so she spoke to the manager. She came back with an explanation that I didn't quite grasp but seemed to be saying that something had changed, but on this occasion she would manually add the extra points (I was in a mad rush so couldn't stay to request clarification!)
Has anyone else noticed that they're not getting the points they used to? Or that using the 'extra points' coupons reduces the number of points they would ordinarily receive?
Thanks in advance.

If you have a voucher for say 250 points when you spend £25 then if you spend £25 that is all the points you will receive. If you spend £35 then you would receive the 250 points for the £25 then your normal 4 points per pound on the other £10. This is the way it's always worked it hasn't changed.0

I've got some of those 'Threshold Spend Coupons' as they are known. One of which is for '150 points when you spend £15 or more in a single transaction' Using this one as an example the (relevant to your query) T&C's on the back of the coupon state: 'A total of 150 points will be awarded for your first £15 spent in a single transaction after any other discount has been applied.' and '4 points per £1 will be awarded on all spend over £15.'
So if a similar criteria was applied to your coupon you would have received 250 points in total for the first £20 that you spent (compared with the normal 80 points for a £20 spend) and 4 points for every additional £1 spent at the same time.0 -
Ah, I see. Yes, I get it now. Thanks so much for your replies - it's appreciated. Dclutterchique, that explains the amount of points I got on both transactions, after the extra points were added.
Thanks again!0
