local jobs in customer services

My employer has recently turned down my request to move from full time hours to part time. As this was for health reasons I am now looking for another job for the first time in nearly 30 years.

I have no CV (never needed one) but have found somewhere local that can help with that. However, I also need help with where to actually look for a new job. My local paper has very few in. I work in an area related to customer service and enjoy it so this is the area I'll be looking into.

Does anyone know of any reputable sites that might have such jobs in the north east?

"Customer service" is a bit of a broad term. Can you expand slightly?

In the mean time try Total Jobs.

And you can do a CV yourself, just look for some templates online.

Include the relevant info but don't make it too long. 2 A4 pages max.

totaljobs and indeed are pretty decent job sites. There are also websites you can go on where you just have to put the info in and it builds the CV for you.

Could also try signing up to recruitment agencies.

I was thinking that handling telephone enquiries would fit in with my experience. I presently interview people about public transport and so I'm on my feet all day. I have osteoarthritis in both my feet and I think I'm also getting it in one of my knees so I'm after a job that involves talking to people but where I can sit down.

You need to search the job websites, search for local firms.

Don't know it it's me, but sole customer service jobs like this are increasingly harder to find, it gets packaged up a lot now as order processing and other titles, I had this type of job this time last year along with handling complaints by phone at individual consumer level but I don't think it exists anymore :(

I have an offer of an interview lined up for customer service that would once have recruited as telesales... well that is what I'm hoping so what a mixed bag it really is

That was just though an 'online agency' once fed of one of the national sites so I'd agree that is the best place probably for the CV

I used indeed and a few similar ones, on the basis of the more the merrier. You can set up different job alerts to include distance, pay, working hours etc in the criteria. If you put a CV on any of them, take it down and reload it every week - you don't need to change it but some companies use software to automatically screen out older CVs.
All shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

Pedant alert - it's could have, not could of.

https://www.indeed.co.uk amalgamates searches from several job sites.

Oh no. I may have to rethink. I definitely couldn't handle telesales. I've found a couple of possible jobs. Just have to work my way through the application forms now. They throw up another load of questions.

If it says max 500 words for a description of your present duties, do they expect somewhere around 500 words. That would mean a lot of waffling so would I be better off being to the point?
