Hello all,
I have a feeling your answer are going to be just be patient however I am slightly confused and just wanted to see if anyone knew the process with Halifax regarding a mortage.
So basically I had an AIP from them found a house and then went back to my broker on Wednesday where we submitted a full application. He advised whilst I will not have a full offer for a couple of weeks I should have a good idea by today where I stand. Anyway just had a call from his secretary to ask for a different form of I.D as my drivers licence photo part has expired and Halifax have requested it. I asked what stage we were at and she advised that they are working the case and should know by Wednesday next week. They havnt asked for any other paper work that I gave them such as payslips and bank statement. Is that an issues? I do all my banking with them so not sure if that has anything to do with it?
Any advise or if any has any experience with them it would be really appreciated.
Thanks,
Matt

Halifax doesn't ask for bank statements via the intermediary channel although we routinely obtain three months bank statements, three months payslips, proof of deposit, ID and address.
Normally, you submit the application and if accepted, the valuation fee is collected.
The valuer is instructed.
We email the supporting documents needed and they are checked and accepted immediately.
The valuation is returned and approved and the offer issued.
Our latest case was submitted on 3rd, docs emailed and confirmed same day. Valuation was instructed immediately. Inspection was done yesterday and case was offered today.

Hi thanks for your response.
That sounds a little diffence to what I have done so far. The details were submitted Wednesday evening Halifax have apparently gone back to broker today to ask for proof of I.D. I have already paid for the valuation fee but was told it would be refunded if I was declined. Does this all sound about right?0 -
It's unusual.
If identification is required, the system asks you to enter the details during the submission process and to keep the actual documents unless asked for them for some reason.I am a mortgage broker. I have just been in and given them a copy of my passport. The secretary advised its at their mortgage centre waiting to be passed on for underwriting and I should here Tuesday. I think the I.D was more for the brokers files then the lender. I'm just confused on what's going on as I was told I would here today. Is it worth calling Halifax direct?0

Hi,
It probably makes sense as for me Halifax requested a valid passport for ID0 -
Hi Teqpro,
What happened after they asked for the I.D. Do they request other documents or Isbit a fairly straight forward yes or no from this point?0 -
Your Broker should have requested this information from the outset, at the beginging my broker wanted everything and send me a very long list, and these are the main ones.
Proof of ID passport or driving licence
Proof of Address
3 months payslips
3 months bank statements
Proof of deposit
Bank details0 -
Yes I took all this to them. I only had to take passport in as my photo licence that I left had expired.
The broker has been really good so far I just couldn't understand his secretary as he had defiantly said we would know something today.0
