I have a 25 year Scottish Mutual WP endowment maturing next year(Pheonix have been managing for past 10 years or so).The sum assured is £48k but it has bonuses attached from the Abbey Nat takeover of Scott Mut way back.Does anyone have any idea how much I am likely to get back?

Nobody can answer that I'm afraid as there are too many variables. However, you could get a reasonable idea by requesting a surrender value from Phoenix.0
