İ have been away from my uk address for quite a while and my pension company have stopped paying my pension because i have failed to return an attestation letter they sent me.They said they sent me one in November and again in April but i havent been home in that time.

What is involved with the completion of an attestation letter? and have i lost the missing payment(May)?..Do i have to return to the uk to complete this form?....about the only document i don't have with me now is my council tax cert..and i can't lay my hands on my pension number!!
İ can't get through to their uk number by phone and i fear the uk contact 0800 number!!.....could be waiting hours on a premium number!

This has come out of the blue after receiving the pension for years!

    A (possibly witnessed) signature.

They are looking for proof that you are still alive.

Because they fear that you might be a dead person.

You really need to ask your pension provider, in order to avoid wasting money on notarization which may not be acceptable. Maybe you need to go to the British Consulate, who knows?

It's pointless asking us here to guess.

İ have gained access to my uk details now so am better placed to deal..notorisation is common here and not expensive plus the consulate is close by.....i now have an actual direct number to ring the company whereas before i was dealing with them through some İndian call service and they were giving methe run around through emails!!..my family member opened their letters in the uk

Basically, in future I would skype your family member and ask them to open all your mail?

Your pension company should be able to provide you with a list of people who are in suitable standing to sign your letter.

Because they fear that you might be a dead person.

Proving you're not dead, always been a tricky one, especially for teenage boys.
