Loan Rebate

I will be paying my loan off in a few days time, I just need advice if I will be able to get a rebate from Abbey for the insurance cover ( sick,death,unemployment) I did not need.

    No I did not make a claim.
  • Are you paying it off early? If you are, most companies give a refund.

    If its ran the whole course then I think you'll find you won't be entitled to a refund, its like any other insurance, you don't get a refund from your holiday insurance just because nothing bad happened, so I would have thought this is the same.

    Just tried to get a rebate from Abbey but the bloke said he could not do that. He said would I get a rebate on my house insurance If i did not make a claim??.

  • Write and ask for settlement figure and tell them you want a breakdown of any PPI refund.
    If it has only 6 months to run it will only be a few quid.

    The trouble is just got another loan from Northern Rock and was hoping to pay straight away but the man at Abbey said that their now only settle loans by cheque to either a branch or by letter not over the phone ie I thought since I was a member I could take the loan out of my account straight.

    Wishing now I waited till I paid for my old loan before getting this new one for a car, I have learn' t from this mistake
