Question about when you win

Hi all,

As I'm still new to all this comping, I wondered what generally happens in terms of notifying you when you win a comp. Does it tend to be straight after the closing date? Or a bit later? How do they notify you?

I'm sure it does vary, but just wondered what was the norm. Thanks

I'd like to know that too. As most of the comps are online and you use your email address, do you get word to your email address normally? Do you have to confirm anything before receiving the prize?

some will email you,some will write to you,some will even just send prizes straight out without telling you,or sum will fone you,also it varys as to ho long after a competition they get in touch,hope this helps xx

hi everyone,

most of mine have just turned up in the post. one had a com slip inside so i knew where it had come from (citv), the oter just appeared on the door step with nothing inside had to check on here where i had won it from (metro). Had one email to confirm win, it depends on company i guess.

As u are a newbie just thought you might like to know it could take up to six weeks for a first win maybe longer depending on how many you enter.. so don't give up hope. On my last win the comp closed on the 10th of july and i only recieved in the post a few days ago with no notice....

Yeah it varies from competition to competition how they let you know. Some email, some telephone, some letters and others just send the prize! The time from the competition ending to being let know also varies, some are a few days others can be a few weeks

Maybe it would be worth a thread that says in it how the different websites let you know? If others think this would be a good idea Id be happy to start one, if not I wont

youll also find a lot of ticket ones (which i dont enter)usually expire same day or within a few days so a lot of time there neither use nor ornament lol
