Hi everyone,
This is the first time that I've posted in this section.
I have ordered nothing online and yet today received a card from Royal Mail saying that they are holding a parcel for me that I owe £11 on. It says that the sender either didn't pay enough postage or hasn't paid any. The only thing that I can think of is that I've won something but had no notification. Has this happened to anyone else? I'm getting a lift to collect it later but just thought I'd ask. If I was a winner, wouldn't I be informed somehow? It's a shame that it's going to cost me £11 on something that could potentially be worth less :rotfl:
Thank you
Nice to meet you all too. I love it here, although don't post much

Occasionally you'll have something just turn up with no notice, sometimes they'll put a note in the parcel saying "Well done for winning the blah blah competition" or something like that ... sometimes they won't even put a note in so you have no idea where it came from.
£11 sounds like a lot to miss on the postage, I'd probably be more inclined to think it's a customs charge? ... let us know what it is
and well done! hope it's something good ( and worth more than the £11 you have to pay!)0 -
I've won before without being notified... and I have had postage costs of a £1 or so once or twice, once not being a prize... but £11 seems a bit steep to me, unless the postage fell off or it is a massive item. Good luck! Can't Smile Without You0

Much the same happened to me.
I informed the promotor re the postage issue. It was not as much as yours though.
I emailed a pic of the Royal Mail slip & the franking slip.
In return they asked me to select another prize to go with the first one.It was worth about £25.0 -
The second prize I won turned up unexpected, glad all postage was paid though as it was in a huge box....dread to think what the postage would have been on that.2018 wins-12wins0

I have had two or three small prizes turn up unheralded, and without any idea what they are. I won some books for my daughter and only found out where they had come from when I googled my name with "Book competition winner". I also had an empty, large package arrive that had clearly been opened and the contents filched. I contacted the publisher but got no reply.0
