Impressive overpayments!
Your reasons for petrol spends made me laugh :rotfl:Mortgage start September 2015 £90000 MFiT #060 -
I've received the letter from Nationwide with my new payments as I made an overpayment of more than £500.
My total monthly mortgage payment is now £774.38 down from
£800.50 in March, and
£778.57 in April,
so getting there... slowly, very slowly!
£252.34 is what is left in the kitty for personal spends, spends on girls and groceries.
I've allocated £100 (not out of the above, but out of savings) for Haven (dinners out) with another £10 per child each for wasting in the arcades. Once the money has gone, they ain't getting no more!Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010

Very well done!
Our monthly payment is £722, so your catching me up :-D
We're with Halifax and when you overpay they don't change your monthly payment, until the fixed rate is up.
When our fix is up I'd like to move to Nationwide if their deals are good at the time0 -
your doing such a fantastic job. I envy you! I used to be so organised then DD came along and with two of them, my finances are in tatters.
Im trying to get a better hold of them ready for when we move house and start our own mortgage free journey so I will be sticking around to get some tips from you
Well donex

p.s - how do you keep your shopping budget so low? I already meal plan but have a fussy 4 year old and a 7 month old who eats me out of house and home! oh and a carnivore for a husband. any tips? :$Current Mortgage balance - £363,785.35/£420,000 (highest point Oct 2022).0

I do keep a list of everything that I spend per month, so I could have a looksie at it, but I reckon it's because I don't have an OH and I hear they eat a lot (my ex did anyways).
My two girls go to their dad's every other weekend as well which helps. I don't spend a lot on my own groceries when they are away (or I go to Mum's who feeds me!).
My youngest insists on school dinners which is great at the moment as it's free until Yr3.
Other than that, I buy a lot of reduced stuff when I can.Pink Sproglettes born 2008 and 2010
