Better bank account

Just wondering when it's sensible to apply to upgrade my basic bank account, almost 5 years since he now.

I suggest waiting until the 6 year period is up?

Exactly what extra banking services are you after, that your basic account does not provide?

My BR drops off in November, contacted Nationwide about upgrading my basic account but they told me to wait until the BR drops off my CR file.

No I'm quite happy with basic account really just wondering when I am considered ok to get a better one that's all.
Same with a better credit card than the ones for bad credit.
Just trying to put it behind me I guess.

Having got into the habit of paying off my balance every month, it really doesn't matter to me whose credit card I have [as long as it's mine, of course.... :) ].......and it has a mega thousands credit limit...for some reason....!

Put it like this....with an shiny so-called 'proper' bank account, one is also lining oneself up for some nice shiny bank charges as well....?

As I see it, it is the banks who have placed us into the financial situation of always 'needing' a bank account these days....so they should pay for the things, not me!

I'm with alistair on this one. I won't be looking for a "better" bank account either when the time comes. I have co-op & barclays basic ones, I have a debit card, internet banking & direct debits. I don't need any more or an overdraft to tempt me! They also report to the CRAs so all good!
