Collecting From Tesco Stores?

Not sure if this is in the right place. Couldnt really think where to put it. Mods please move it if its not supposed to go here:o

Anyway on to my question:rotfl:

Ive ordered something from tesco direct (a freeview box with 1 months Setanta) and i thought i would save myself a fiver and collect it from my local store.

I placed the order and got my order number and everything. They said that they will send me an email to confirm the order. The problem is i cant get into my email account from home (computer problems:mad: ) Ive saved the page you get after you have successfully placed the order with the order number and everything.

Anyway i really want to know if i need anything from this email as i have the order number and also where do i collect it from?

Im thinking the customer service desk? What do i do just go up and ask and show them my order number?

Any help from someone who has done this before would be great:beer:

Thanks

At the stores where collection is allowed, there is normally a tesco direct desk. That is where you pick your item up from. Just show them either a printout of your order or the email and that's all you need
There is a forgotten, nay almost forbidden word which means more to me than any other. That word is England.

Thanks for that but my local Tesco's doesnt have this (unless it has been put it within the last week:rotfl: )

I remember it used to only be a few of the bigger stores in each area so never bothered looking at it but i was suprised to see that they have made it avaliable in alot more stores.

Ill have to just go to the customer services desk:rotfl: .

I've just checked your area avfc and there are stores shown which aren't extras or homeplus stores.
Where I live we don't have any stores except extras or homeplus that do collection. I'm sure CS at your local will be able to assist you. Sorry for misleading you. That will teach me to assume ;)

When I ordered they rang to confirm the item had come in, but that was from a tesco direct desk in store

Just a word to the wise in case like me your local store is not as 'local' as it could be!

I placed an order to be delivered to a store, the email arrived telling me it would be instore after 4.30pm on a certain date, so I left it a day or two longer (when I was in the general area anyway) and went to collect it but it wasn't there. Apparently they phone you to tell you when it's arrived but the email didn't say that

So I had a 30 mile round trip with nothing to show for it. And to make matters worse they eventually contacted me to let me know the item was now out of stock :(

"Thanks for that but my local Tesco's doesnt have this (unless it has been put it within the last week:rotfl: )"
