    Im sorry but whats incorrect with what i have said as it marrys up perfectly with what ive said above

    I earn 15k wife earns 37.5k
    I have clean credit hisotry she has 3 ccj
    Otherwise she would be applying for loan and. I wouldnt be asking questions to judgemental people on here.

    Perhaps as a tax manager she would have been able to help you with your problems with self assessment.

    So, now that that's cleared up - who is actually wanting to apply for the loan? What's their salary? What are their outgoings?

    You (the husband) are the one wanting to apply for the loan, yes? And you have an income of £15,000? What are your existing debts - £1,700 on the overdraft? How much on the credit cards?

    I husband

    Salary of 16k more or less

    1700 overdraft with halifax
    No credit cards
    Sofa dfs 800 left to pay off
    Car 7500 left to pay off.

    Wife got in a bit of a mess as main breadwinner when we both ended up losing our jobs on same day (which coincidentally was on her birthday) whenhe was about to be born. Therefore its taken a while to get back on ou4 feet as we are honest working people we got no help whatsoever.

    The car loan - is it secured finance or an unsecured loan?
