STYLIST
Stylist has teamed up with Flos to give one reader the chance to win a Snoopy table lamp designed by Achille & Pier Giacomo Castiglioni worth £640.
Designed in 1967 and named after the loveable "Peanuts" character, the form of the Snoopy light was inspired by the cartoon dog's protruding nose. Although humorous, this perfectly balanced design is also quite rational in its construction. Having enjoyed throughout his long career products that were imbued with wit as well as stylish functionalism, Achille Castiglioni noted: "There has to be irony both in design and in the objects.. I see around me a professional disease of taking everything too seriously. One of my secrets is to joke all the time."
One of a range of classic designs from Italian lighting brand Flos, Snoopy is a table with an enamelled glass shade and gives a direct light controlled by a touch dimmer switch on its white marble base.
