albertross: new uk spec toyota avensis diesel. 14250.
manathome: That assumes that I put an equivalent amount into B/S bond and pay off loan with other money, doesn't it? I was thinking maybe investing the cash and withdrawing monthly amounts.
mrcow: they won't take credit cards beyond £5000 -

How about if you can get your overdraft whacked up to that limit for a short amount of time and then balance transfer your overdraft. Or write a balance transfer cheque like MBNA do but read the small print and make sure it's a balance transfer cheque not a cash advance cheque. You will still be charged a balance transfer fee but I think that some of them are capped.Debt: 16/04/2007:TOTAL DEBT [strike]£92727.75[/strike] £49395.47:eek:   £43332.28 repaid 100.77% of £43000 target.MFiT T2: Debt [STRIKE]£52856.59[/STRIKE] £6316.14 £46540.45 repaid 101.17% of £46000 target.2013 Target: completely clear my [STRIKE]£6316.14[/STRIKE] £0 mortgage debt. £6316.14 100% repaid.0

OK. Thanks all again! Actually the price was 13810 for a 2.0l colour collection diesel from main dealer but I added a protection pack which they also discounted. So thanks for confirming that it sounds a good deal. I mentioned I could pay cash but asked if they had any finance deals going. Will check out your links.0

No, sorry about that, more about whether it was worth using the lump sum to cover the loan interest instead of cashing in then re-building savings. Were you asking me to recheck the numbers?
The Leeds fix seemed quite handy as you can make a single withdrawal of up to 25% so it would give an "emeergency fund" just in case (more of a recipe for uncertain times).0
