Info on Bognor Regis please!
Options
Hi all
We're off to Butlins Bognor on Monday and i was wondering if any of you live that way or know the area and can recommend days out or places to visit (preferably MSE style
).
There's me and my DH plus our 3 kids, we're going with a whole host of relatives, loads of kids so cheap days out would be an advantage!
Just edited to say, any info on Farms, animals, churches, historic buildings are very welcome
Thanks so much for your help
Jo

I have never been to Bognor but I used to live in Chichester which is about 3 miles away.
If the weather is nice take them here:

Probably one of the nicest beaches in UK.
The catheral in Chichester is free to go around and it's interesting with roman remains!
If you feel like a wander around the countryside then take a picnic and park up on Harting down, it's quite hilly so it should exhaust the kids.
If you fancy treating yourselves to a nice meal out then I recommend the Star and Garter in East Dean or if you want to take the kids with you the Fox goes Free has a large pub garden with amazing views.
I don't know what it costs (it may even be free) and I never went but heard very good things about the Goodwood Sculpture

It's not cheap but a wander around Arundel Castle is fun and the views on a clear day spectacular:

They do reenactment on some weekends.
enjoy your holiday0 -
You can pay to get into Butlins as a day visitor. Costs around £8 per adult from memory, less for kids.0

Oh, a word of warning! Watch out for the photographer on Bognor sea front!
Her assistant jumps out dressed as a lion/bear or whatever and stands with you whilst she takes a picture. She then demands payment for the picture, without you having seen it!
If you refuse to pay she gets quite s**tty and abusive about you wasting her film/time etc.
Make it CLEAR you don't want your photo taken!
You have been warned...0 -
From Bognor, Littlehampton is not far and the Harbour Park is good, have heard good things about the East Beach cafe there, it looks like a rust bucket (literally), although it is pricey. Arundel Castle is brilliant for kids and the town is really interesting, from Whattodowiththekids.co.uk, you can print out a discount voucher. Also, Fishers Farm Park at Billingshurst is a whole day out for the kids with loads to do, either take a picnic or the food there is good. Also, at Fishers Farm, once you've paid the entrance, then everything is included, not like with some days out. Lastly, if the weather is awful and the kids are hyper, then go to Flying Fortress at Arundel where they can run around and let off steam - again not cheap, but might be worth it to save your sanity.0

West Wittering Beach is £5-ish to park at weekends, so take your picnic and stay all day. It is gorgeous though.
East Wittering is more like Brighton (ie mix of stones and sand)but the parking is cheaper.
Also Felpham has a good free car park near the beach - though it's not West Wit. it's very pleasant.
Sculpture park at Goodwood is about £10 to get in I think.....we are members of NT so often go to Petworth House, Uppark etc for nothing.
Chichester is good for family events in the summer hols - have a look for events in Priory Park, Oaklands Park etc. In Bognor there is Hotham Park which is lovely and has a miniature raliway some days I think.
Arundel has parking along the bottom of the castle hill if you get there early enough, adn you can walk up through the town to the cathedral, or along the road to the Wilfowl and Wetlands Trust, where onc you've piad your entrance fee you can get a solar boat to see water voles! (Well, I think it's fun anyway...)0
