Hi hope you can help here is my problem
I ordered a car from Nissan and agreed on a a good deal when I was happg I signed the order form.
At this point the dealer advised that if I took there pcp I would recieve a £1000 nissan finance contribution and proceeded to give me a quote to which I was happy with and accepted.
I was given a pre contract quotation detailing all payments and interest rates as well as terms and conditions.
One of these terms says that the dealer is bound by this quotation from 24th may till 24th June.
I recieved an email saying the car will arrive on 16th june a couple of days later.
Then 3 days ago I recieved another email from the salesman saying he had made a mistake and apologies but he could not give me the £1000 finance contribution as he had used an employee scheme to discount my car. And my payments would now go up to XYZ.
I am not happy with the increase but still want my car on the original terms detailed on thd pre contract agreement.
Can I insist on him honnoring the previous terms?
This has caused great distress. I am not an employee of nissan and neither did I imply I was so this is his fault and he has held his hands up via an email.
Thanks in advance Alan

I'm no expert but if they've made a mistake then I don't think you can make them sell you the car at X price.
Maybe you can but I'd bet all they need to do it put you in the position you were before their mistake. No new car from them and no expense incurred by you.0 -
Tell him you are cancelling the order and will take your business elsewhere, see if that shakes things up. if not take the quote you have to a different dealer and ask them to match or beat it."We act as though comfort and luxury are the chief requirements of life, when all that we need to make us happy is something to be enthusiastic about” – Albert Einstein0

Thanks for the reply. The thing is the dealer is quite happy to cancel my order. All I want is the deal originally offered. I think it might be possible because he seems quite keen to get me to cancel0

Make a lot of noise, speak to the dealer manager, Nissan uk, whoever you can think of. I am not convinced oit will get you anywhere but if you dont try you dont know.£1000 Emergency fund No90 £1000/1000

I don't understand.
You agreed a price you were happy with and signed the order on that basis.
Afterwards he offered you £1000 contribution to take a PCP deal
Now he says you can't have the £1000 contribution, so presumably you don't take the PCP deal, and carry through the original order that you signed, at the original price.
Or are you saying that the original deal that you signed has now gone up by £1000?
In which case, as they cannot supply the car at the agreed price, you should get any deposit back and can walk out of the deal.I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

This sounds like an Ev*ns H*lshaw trick to get you to sign up when you were only browsing, they tried similar on us.0

I work for Ford and can understand the dealer thinking you were a Nissan employee as he probably does most of hos sales through the discount scheme. If you signed a contract I would think they are obliged to stick to it although this would not go down well for the salesman who has to admit his mistake to his sales manager. They could then make up an excuse not to supply you with the car blaming any reason of things. Interesting to see how you get on if you stick to your guns0

Stick to your guns, and put your poker face on.Do you want your money back, and a bit more, search for 'money claim online' - They don't like it up 'em Captain Mainwaring0

Tell the dealership that you expect them to keep to the terms of their offer to you, and see what happens.
You have nothing to lose by doing so."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
Is the car cheaper than on drivethedeal?0
