Best / cheapest way for this journey Gatwick to norfolk

I Have drive home from Gatwick to Norfolk where I live. However I would like to spend the day out in London before I drive back home

However I don't want to drive through central London or park there either so want to park somewhere else and commute by train, but just want to know the safest place to park and cheapest place to commute from and not a nightmare to commute through

Any advice welcome

Depends on time of day I suppose. Could you stay parked at Gatwick and get the bus or train in from there, then drive back home in the evening? Or drive to somewhere like Gants Hill or Redbridge on the Central line where you'd be well placed for the M11.

Personally I'd drive from Gatwick round the m25 and the Dartford crossing, then find somewhere to park in the northeast/ east of London.

That way you're the right side of London for the journey home.

Unfortunately I can't help with suggestions of where to park.
