Has anyone purchased a cordless iron?

Options
I need a new iron. Luckily for me my last iron broke within warranty and I have £60 in refunds and vouchers to play with and can probably afford to throw a little more to the grand total.

I have been looking at cordless irons, they seem like a fantastic idea because I am always getting in the way of the cord when ironing. The idea of ironing without this issue sounds fantastic!
Only hiccup I have is that on reading they need to be sat back on a charger from time to time so they can work.

I was wondering if anyone has any experience of a cordless iron and can say if this recharging thing is a big enough issue to put you off/wishing you'd not bothered? How often when ironing does the iron need to be recharged? Is this every 10 or so seconds or do you get a few minutes or an hour out of the iron?

The models I've been looking at are by Phillips and Tefal, unless anyone else knows any more.
The new iron will have a lot to live up to; my previous iron was pretty good though is sadly discontinued; the nearest to the same spec would cost £90! It had a steam blast of 50g, had a 2.5m cord, was 2600watts (heated up fast) and an auto-shut off. I kind of don't want to lose too much of that but it looks as though all cordless irons fall sort of this- I'm wondering how much that matters.

I have a steam generator and would highly recommend it.
On some fabrics you only need to do one side.
I don't have any issue with the cord and it's a big thick one for the steam.

I bought one from Lidl a few years ago.
The only 'problem' is that you have to wait longer for it to heat up, rather than for an ordinary iron - a waste if you only have 1 or 2 items to iron. I bought a cheap basic iron for times when it's just a quick shirt to do.
But it you have a wash load, it zips through it in no time.

We've got one and I really like it. I think it's Tefal and cost about £90 12 months ago. You get about 5-10 seconds before it starts to beep and needs to be put back down. This works fine in my opinion because you get a few 'strokes' of the iron and then it's time to reposition the garment, so no trouble caused.

As ilovemygarden mentioned, it does take over a minute to heat up which can seem like an age if you're sat waiting. Once it's up and running it's fine.
