Boarding Kennels

Hi,

I'm thinking of going away for a week or so in September. I know there's already a thread but it's a bit out of date. So, I'm looking for a kennel near or in Belfast, or North Down for two dogs.

My priority is obviously the quality though I don't want to pay a fortune.

Any recommendations or experiences would be very welcome.

Can't recommend Julie's Doghouse outside Newtownards highly enough. They're expensive compared to our previous kennels, Ballygrainey, but after Ballygrainey closed for refurbishment we went to Julie's and my dog is so much more relaxed when he comes home that I can genuinely stop worrying about him while away. £18 a night, but worth it in my opinion.

I don't use boarding kennels, I prefer home from home style boarding (mine are both rescues and I know one wouldn't cope gonig back into kennels) I highly recommend Charmayne at Petminder NI, you can find her on FB. Or there is a Belfast based guy called WALKS. I've never used him personally but I'm sure you could find reviews.

I have to second Julie's Doghouse at Ballyblack. I boarded my 2 dogs there several times a yeat for the last 7 years or so. It's not the cheapest but you get what you pay for and worth every penny for peace of mind. The estblishment is small so dogs get much more one-to-one time from staff.

I've used Littlepawz and found it to be horrendous. Never again.

If you're looking for home boarding/pet sitting then I can suggest Lisa at Waggy Tails in Newtownards. I've never used her services but know Lisa and wouldn't hesitate to leave my dogs with her if needed. Tel: 07871 367434 or search for Waggy Tails on Facebook.
  • Hi have to agree with BigCammy The Dog's House, Newtownards is great! Our pooch is always happy :)

Cranmore Pet Hotel up into the Belfast hills after Finaghy Rd North - you can book a free inspection. In-laws have used them for several years and no complaints.
