Airport Car Park Used My Car

I need a bit of advice. I recently went on holiday to Portugal and I have received a speeding fine for whilst I was away. I obviously wasn't driving the car as it was supposed to be parked in a airport car park at the time. The speed fine is from somewhere I have never driven so it can't be that the date is wrong.
Basically it seems a staff member from the car park has decided to use my car for their own pleasure and driven big distances in it (the fine was 150miles away from where the car park is).
My question is has anyone come across this before? And how did they proceed in terms of getting some form of compensation from said company.
Apologies if this isn't in the right section but I couldn't really find the correct place to put the post.

Is it 100% your car (not say a car with cloned plates)?
Sam Vimes' Boots Theory of Socioeconomic Unfairness:
People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Try posting in the motoring section of the forum. You will get better help there. I can't get the link to work for some reason but scroll down the forum index & you will see it.SPC 8 (2015) #485 TOTAL: £334.65

Maybe I should of checked that before posting! Itchy trigger finger.
It could be cloned plates, just seems coincidental that the first time I get a speeding fine through ever is when someone else is in possession of my car. I will call the speeding hotline and see what they say.0 -

Did you check your mileage before and after going on holiday? You would know if someone else had been driving it then0 -
For future reference, its a good idea to take a note of your mileage and jot it down on the form you sign, letting them know you are aware of the mileage and for them to confirm it with you.
If anything it might just put them off taking the car out (It was covered on Watchdog a couple of Years ago), but at the very least will give you evidence should they drive it anywhere.:A:dance:1+1+1=1:dance::A

A decent airport parking company should do that in your presence on vehicle handovers.Did you check your mileage before and after going on holiday? Unfortunately I didn't jot down the mileage. However if the number plate hasn't been cloned and it was my car that went through the speed camera then its pretty obvious what has happened0

Surely though the main point in defending the ticket was you drove to x car park, parked the car, flew away on holiday to z and were there until such and such a date until you came back.
Who drove your car/whether the plates were cloned is irrelevant to the ticket?
Although, I'd be livid with the car parking place.

Edit: sorry, just realised you wanted advice re taking action against the parking people and not contesting the fine.Making my money go further with MSE :j
