Multi Car Insurance?

Hey all,
So I am trying to figure out the cheapest (best?!) way to insure a 2nd car in my name (due to family circumstances).

I've only found Admiral doing a multicar policy which seems to give me a combined quote: 1 year on the 2nd car, plus the number of months after my insurance on the 1st car ends to the same renewal date. So both cars would then be renewed on the same date next year.

Aviva lets me put all my details in and then says it can't quote me. Don't know if that's 'cause of being in N.Ireland.

Does anyone know anyone else that does a multicar policy whereby I am the primary policy holder on both cars? Or any other suggestions for reducing the quote on a second car - as I don't have any no claims bonus for this 2nd car, though I have been a named driver on its insurance for many years.

The multicar quote from Admiral is cheaper than a single quote for the new car! I don't know exactly the details of their policy though (yet).

Me and the missus have had a multicar policy with Admiral for years and been very happy with both the cover and the price (£360 fully comp for 2 cars inc business use and legal cover). My Sister got a second car last month and rang me for insurance advice, she was with Direct Line so I sent her to Admiral for a quote. Admiral came back with a quote, but it was more expensive than simply adding the second car to her existing Direct Line policy!


So give Direct Line a bell, insurance is not a 'one cap fits all' thing, it may not work for you but you never know... I'll certainly be giving them a shout when my own comes up for renewal.
