Need a hall for wedding party

Options
Hi,

Im going to propose to my wonderful partner of 10 years and i want to surprise her by having all the main bits booked before i propose. Ive found our ceremony but i am now looking for a hall to hire with a kitchen and bar and big enough to seat around 50-80 people and then shall have another 30 guests arriving after sit down meal. Im looking in the region of Stevenage, Welwyn garden city and Hatfield Hertfordshire.

I would like to do the decorations our selves and i have a friend who will do all the catering for our wedding meal and buffet.

So if any one can help me that will be great and most appreciated all i keep getting when i search online is wedding venues with packages thanksssss

Are you sure she will like that? She may have been looking forward to being involved in decisions like that herself.

I agree - marriage is about sharing and deciding things together.

Yeah this has control freak stamped all over it.

I am sure that you feel like it's a nice gesture, but surely part of the fun is choosing all these things together.

Get on "Don't tell the Bride" if you are doing all the planning you may as well get the TV company to contribute! Seriously I am sure most brides to be would like to have their ideas considered on the plan this approach might backfire even if you think you are helping!

If my OH organized our wedding without consulting me I'd be less than happy (unless there was a really good reason like Don't Tell the Bride picking up the tab ;))

Spend your organising skills on a really memorable proposal - and by all means have ideas for the wedding but plan it together.

Trust us - we are women - we KNOW most women wouldn't be thrilled at having no say in the important wedding decisions !! :)

  • I agree with what one or two people have said already.

This is something that needs to be organised together. She may think everything you have organised is not what she wants.

One cannot repeat this day, so it has to be right the first time.

You only have to watch a couple of episodes of "Don't tell the bride" to see the effect you can have.
