    Hi Minijul,

Your new house sounds lovely! You've basically done what I'm aiming for at some point, leaving a city terrace for a place in the countryside.

I'm with you on the overspending on books and food, I really need to stay out of water stones....I can't leave empty handed!

Good luck on your journey, I look forward to seeing how you get on!

    Thanks all!

Can't believe it is nearly a week since I last posted! Work is super busy at the moment with various audits and projects going on making it somewhat hectic. In positive news I received confirmation of my performance bonus and pay increase for this year :j and OH has a new job with a nice shiny payrise.

Next task for me given the above is to nag him into paying the max OPs we can (20% of monthly payment) at the moment we are only on 9.1%

I think I want to do an SOA with a few months spends under our belt for the house account to ensure it is fairly accurate. I've budgeted for all costs annual and monthly in the year so everything should be covered but I suspect we're currently not sticking to the food budget!

In other news the sprained ankle is slowly on the mend (swelling kinda stopped but anything beyond a 10 minute walk/ more tricky surface still hurts) :( but I am into week 3 of the 5:2 diet and coping well ( no idea if it's working!)
  • Hi a bills SOA could be really helpful. I was overpaying on my home insurance by £300 per year and thought I had a good deal! I then went and reviewed every bill taking into account the advise I'd been given. I saved £1000 per year (conservative estimate!)
