in Cutting tax
Hi,
Looking for some advice. I currently have a company Car, which is for business and personal use. For any business mileage I can claim 15p per mile, unlimited personal use. I do approx 25,000 miles per year. Am I able to claim any tax back for this at all? I know normally people who have their own car can claim 45p per mile back for business use.

You can only claim the tax back on mileage rate if it's your own car or you have car allowance, not allowed on a company car.0

Not true I am afraid.

You have not bought the car and, presumably, do not maintain it. If you buy the fuel for business miles and you are paid less than the allowed amount you may claim the balance against your tax. The maximum allowed amount is 20p per mile for a petrol engined vehicle over 2000cc.
