change of circumstances

Hello,
I have a question about reporting changes of circumstances to my mortgage provider as I'm rather confused as to what the actual rules are and what the implications are.
Between applying for my joint mortgage in early August 2013, and receiving through the offer letter from the lender (28th Aug), I moved overseas with the same company I'd been working for in the UK.
The overseas work contract wasn't signed by all parties until early September even though the company dated the contract 19th August. The other person on the mortgage remained in the UK.
I've only recently reported to my bank that my address has changed but have not given them any further detail and they've not asked for any.
Any comments pls on what I should do - should i expect a whacking great big charge due to failure to report change in circumstances. I've read some comments on similar type situations saying that as long as your working for the same co, even if you move, its not important and doesn't need to be reported. However, I've read other reports that this could constitute something bad..
thanks!
