Apologies if this is in the wrong place...
I bit the bullet this morning and downloaded my credit report. Was pleasantly surprised about what hadn't made it on there!
Anyway, I have a few bad marks against my name, all of which are to do with money I'd borrowed from LloydsTsb, the worst of them being a default against a loan which I had with them about 4 years ago. (I should point out that all of these are settled now)
Anyway, does anyone know the best way of going about getting these removed from my record completely? I still bank with Lloyds, and have been completely above board with them for about 3 years now, (no missed payments, no bouncing d/ds or anything like that) Do you think if I made an appointment to see someone in my branch and just asked them nicely they'd do it, or is there a more formal route you have to take with banks to get them to do something like this?
If anyone has had to do anything similar, please help me out!

You can always ask them to remove the default, and if you have been a good customer since there is a very small chance they may do so.
However under normal circumstances a default stays on your credit file for six years, irrespective of whether it is later satisfied outside the period specified in the default notice.
Have you checked your CRF's with all 3 agencies as well? You may find that the items you were expecting to see but didn't are on the records held by the ones you don't have.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

It will stay on your file for 6 years even if it has been satisfied within that time. The whole point is that it shows your payment behaviour and shows that you have paid late. Lenders need to see this information to decide whether you are a good credit risk or not. The fact you have since cleared it is irrelevant.Baby Ice arrived 17th April 2011. Tired.com! :j0
