Can you negotiate on new builds??

We have seen some lovely new builds but they are slightly over our budget. We are also looking to part exchange so would that stop us negotiating on price and extra's?

You have nothing to lose by trying.0

By all means try - but there is a cost to the builder of Part Exchange, and this is usually either reflected in the asking price of the new property, or a low offer on the old one, or both.0

Probably depends on how much demand there is. Pretty sure they would have laughed in my face if I'd tried to negotiate on price where I reserved as it was a race to get a property as soon as they put them on the market. Did find out after that they'd thrown in carpet and vinyl throughout without me even asking though, so that was nice!!0

Yes, you can and you should. We got 13.5% off the list price of our London flat. There are certain things that can go in your favour though, for example our flat was the last in the block to be sold, it was the show home so had been kept until last and until it was sold they couldn't hand over that portion of the development to the management company.0
