Nat west mortgages

Hi peeps

We are in the process of selling our house had offer accepted and the person who has bought off us has applied to nat west for their mortgage which I think is a buy to let mortgage . The surveyor went into our property last Thursday to do valuation for the people who are buying off us . Surely this is a good sign and how long after valuation is done does the mortgage offer come through . Waiting patiently

  • For my remortgage the valuation was done on the Monday and offered on the Wednesday.

Yes Natwest are one of the lenders that do the valuation survey after the underwriting has been approved. It is not a guarantee and more checks could be done, but it's likely that a mortgage will be offered - assuming the valuation is ok.

Forgot to add that I got offer in the post on the Thursday morning so all very quick once I passed the underwriting stage. I believe Natwest SLA for reviewing valuation on receipt is 2 working days

It took them around 10 days to get back to us with the offer after the valuation but this might have been because it was around the Easter holiday time.

Nat West are choccablock with work, allow perhaps 10 days after your valuation.

It seems a bit more complicated than we first thought . The lady has had to remortgage her property to release equity to buy our property . Then had to apply for a small mortgage to get the rest. She has had confirmation today her remortgage is offered and a text today to say the other mortgage in the post . Fingers crossed this means everything is in place and then we can start talking dates

    A simple LTB.

    Application 24 April.

    Offered today.

Not helped by surveyor deciding rental income assessment was £625 and NatWest changing from 5.25% to 5.5% mid-stream.
