Not sure if anyone is interested but noticed asda stopped their 3 for £1 on chocolate bars and sweets this week, and then tesco have today stopped their 3 for £1.20 offer.
Was a pretty good deal that has been on for years but now its 60p each

Why would anyone pay 40p per bar in threes when most are available at 25p per bar in fours much of the time?0

Because the bars are where they are, at the time they want them.
Most people aren't "money savers", they don't walk around supermarkets with phones/calculators trying to work out which product is a penny per 100g cheaper than another. They just look at a product and if they want it and have the money to buy it, they do.0 -
It's worth looking out for multiple small bars in packs on special offer. I have recently bought these in ASDA and they have been considerably cheaper per gram than a single bar of similar weight.
Currently for Cadbury Dairy Milk
3x36g=108g for 80p.
1x110g for £1.42

Previously there was a similar situation with Galaxy.0 -

Often you can only get the main brands in multipacks (Mars/Snickers/Bounty), what if you want something different like Reeces. Also the multibuy means I get three different bars, rather than being stuck with a pack of all the same.
Being able to get the equivilant of a selection box all year round would be great ;-)0 -

And no-one's talking about the price per gramme, anyway, so have no idea why you bring that up.0 -
Why are you posting to this thread?
Same reason you are. They'll just pay 65p or 90p in their local petrol station or Spar,
Only if they happen to be in a petrol station or spar at the time, they won't do that if they are in Tescos.then and not bother about the change.
Why? Is there some rule that says that when you buy from a petrol station or spar you don't bother about the change? And no-one's talking about the price per gramme, anyway, so have no idea why you bring that up.
Nobody was talking about multi packs either, but you brought them up.0 -
Why are you posting to this thread?
Why don't you ever consider whether what you intend to post will add value or denigrate before you push the button. There's nothing smart about what you post, it verges on the nasty.Value-for-money-for-me-puhleeze!

Sometimes the multipack bars are smaller than individual ones. Sometimes people don't want to buy a multibuy deal as they know they will eat them all in one go.
Multipacks can be a good saving, if you are buying an item per person for X people, but if you are just buying for yourself, I think cost per gram for sweets/chocolates/crisps can be irrelevant because chances are, whatever I buy, I will eat in one go so just buying one item is a way of limiting consumption and the amount I spend.0
