Chesterfield to Huddersfield return...

Morning all, Can anyone answer me this…
On Sunday 21st June I can catch the 1021 from Sheffield changing at Leeds to Huddersfield and pay for an off-peak day return costing £9.40 – bear in mind that the train stops at Chesterfield at 1003 before Chesterfield, however when I search for that particular trip and fare from Chesterfield, the train just does not exist…

The ticket I would like is an Anytime Day Return costing £12.50 from Chesterfield…

I'm a seasoned train booker/traveller but this has got me a little stumped?

Regards

Alun

Sheffield to Huddersfield off peak day return is £9.40 routed NOT via Leeds.

Going via Leeds is permitted on a ticket from Sheffield to Huddersfield routed "Any Permitted", but this costs more.

Unfortunately via Leeds is not a permitted route for Chesterfield to Huddersfield. Perhaps it used to be; it may be worth asking on RailUK's dedicated Fares Advice & Policy forum as someone there will have old copies they can check. If it was valid, you could argue for its reinstatement.

Trainsplit will sell a ticket departing Sheffield at 1018 arriving 12:35 for £12.50 but it involves a rail replacement bus. You can get a train (changing at Sheffileld) on the way back. Would that be of use to you?

Ah - I see what I've done, the check box doesn't appear for the ticket I want - oh well, thanks for clearing that up - might make alternate arrangements!

    Thanks
