Have I pretty much got a mortgage with NatWest?

I've just received confirmation that a surveyor is going to value our new house. Does this pretty much mean that provided everything comes back OK on the survey and valuation that I have the mortgage or will there still be more checks Netwest would be looking to do that could potentially cause me issues?

Thanks.

Rik.

I'm not an expert but I would expect the underwriting process (when your application is properly considered) to happen after the valuation.

For one thing they can't know what the LTV is until the property has been valued.

The bulk of the checks are completed prior to the valuation as it would be a waste of time & money to complete valuations if the application hadn't already been accessed. Assuming the valuation is completed successfully you will see the offer shortly.

    Good luck.

If the valaution has been instructed with Natwest I would be pretty confident you have your Mortgage.

I reckon so.... We have just had our mortgage agreement through with Natwest and our valuation was instructed AFTER underwriting had been satisfied so it is definitely a step in the right direction
