mops for cleaning floors

Can anyone recommend a good mop for cleaning floors? Must be easy to use and easy to squeeze the water out of.

Whatever mop you get along with (is long enough, & strong enough), but make sure you have a bucket that'll help wring the extra water out. I've gone through more mops than buckets by being very picky about the bucket first.

And then there is always the satisfaction of the hands & knees & scrubbing brush - but much depends on age, flexibility & just how picky your visitors are likely to be.

    All the best!

The old fashioned 'wring out' type mops always seem a nightmare to me, I use one of these and the heads are easily bought in the supermarkets. No need for a bucket to be left around, I just close it over the sink.

Mops? Had them all! absoloute favourite is the spin mop mentioned above, would not buy anything else but given how well constructed shouldn't have to for a few years.
I cannot remember where we bought ours but it was considerably cheaper than the vileda mentioned above so if considering it I would def shop around.:)

I did a bit of research into the topic of mops on mumsnet after our vileda magic mop broke at the plastic seam and there was a lot of recomendations for the lakeland smart string mop.

We bought it and it is indeed brilliant. It is super absorbant and you can get a matching bucket that has a clip in it to clip the mop into so it stays upright during storage. The best bit is that the heads are machine washable in one of those delicates bags you usually use for under wear. We have one on the mop and one washed/ in the wash.
