Natwest Mortgage Credit Checks

Hello,

We have passed the affordability test for a mortgage with Natwest. We were going to apply for a Decision in Principle but our electoral roll status has not yet been updated. We hadn't put our names on the ER as my husbands job had advised against it for security reasons, but despite this we registered to vote in the middle of April.

It's now been 6 weeks and the records on our credit files still haven't been updated.

Am I right in thinking it would be an automatic no if we are not showing on the CRAs as being on the ER?

I have emailed all 3 CRAs with copies of ER confirmation asking them to update.

Many thanks for any advice and apologies if this has already been asked by someone else.

SB

I had an AIP done for NatWest today and got approved. My address change hasn't shown up on my credit file yet either. They ask for a previous address so you should be fine.

It is not an automatic no from NatWest if you are not on the voters roll.

  • It's not an auto no as said.
I got full offer from them despite not showing at this address but as long as previous address show you should be fine. Good luck

My advisor told me NatWest is facing a backlog due to their recent drop in interest rates pushing up demands for their mortgages.

Yeah my adviser told me the same. Said it will take around 4 working days for them to access my information.

  • I was only applying for Decision in Principle. Sent the required documents to our mortgage broker yesterday morning and had a call late afternoon saying they'd approved it. Just hoping the vendor accepts our offer now!
