Nationwide text updates

Hi

If you have applied for a mortgage with nationwide, did you get regular text updates? We went through a broker and so far the only txt we have had is to say they received our application. The only updates we have been given are by me constantly harassing our mortgage advisor. Do they only send regular texts to applications done online?

It's so frustrating waiting for texts that never come

We didn't get any at all but we were porting and that is a paper application.

All other applications will be keyed in online (I believe) and your broker can sign you up to the texts.

If you got one saying application received it is likely you are on the text system and should start getting regular updates as your application progresses through the other key stages.
  • I got texts anytime something substantial happened:
    - application in
    - valuation booked
    - satisfactory report
    - formal offer in the post
    - solicitor booked date for drawing down funds.

If you don't hear anything for a while, make sure there's not an email from Nationwide that the estate agent or broker needs to act on (e.g. agree date for valuation survey, updated paperwork from you).

    Good luck!

We had our valuation done last Friday, again only knew about it because the sales woman at the site told us, our advisor didn't even know. Just wondering whether we will find out whether we have the mortgage offer by text or whether we will have to wait until it comes in the post. Sound like nationwide are very inconsistent with their text service!

Same as above, when we had a text delay(not long tho as Mortgage was offered witching 8 working days), I phoned the bank and they were awaiting information from our Broker, that we had already delivered. It felt a bit like micro managing, but it was my mortgage at the end of the day.
So I chased Broker to submit requested info and what do you know, we had Mortgage offered next day (heard from the Broker first) and then three text at once. Valuation received- Valuation accepted- Mortgage offered.

Our Broker notified us (by phone) then I noticed, I had received the text time stamped, prior to the call from the Broker. However it was nice hearing from our Broker. Think it's good for them to tell you the good news, after their hard work. Just really nice hearing from a person.

We did receive text update saying Valuation rescheduled and then another stating valuation booked and date.
