LED Light Bulbs/Floor Standing Lamp

Looking for a bit of advice please.
I have a floor standing lamp c/w a floor dimmer, it takes 2 x 12v 20w halogen bulbs, and I would like to replace with LED bulbs.
Know doubt I will need some kind of transformer to prevent LED flickering etc, but I am at a loss of where to begin.
Would be grateful for any kind of information, just don't want to order bulbs and then there are problems.
Thanks in advance.:)

Seems likely it would be one single unit with lamp, dimmer and an existing transformer all integrated together.
I would have thought you would struggle to convert to LED bulbs without re-engineering it. You could probably remove the existing dimmer and transformer and completely replace it with one specifically for LED bulbs.0 -
Same here, we have pendant lights with a dozen halogen G4s. At some point these will be changed to LEDs. There are LED drivers available to retrofit the transformer. fairly easy, just time...
But yes, never use LEDs on a regular transformer.
