Thanks for kicking us off this month, Fizz!
Welcome 666paw, Almostthere78 and WeAreGhosts!
I have one UU today:
TBS Frosted Cranberry Body Butter 200ml: This smelt awful - so synthetic and unpleasant. very disappointing - WNBA.
Feeling rather miserable at the moment - I've had a patch of red raw spots on my cheek for at least three months now and nothing is helping to get rid of them. I thought to myself last night - I give up - and decided plain old soap and water would help. Turns out, it has made things worse. Had a bad reaction to the plain soap and now my whole face is bright red, sore and dry. Debating whether to get some cream from the docs at this stage...0 -
1 IN It's Potent Eye Cream fromBenefit - it is a 3 gram sample
Currently running through storesFrom Sat 30 May if you take any old skincare product (any brand, not make-up) into a Boots with a Benefit counter, you can exchange it for a £4-£10 Benefit sample until Sat 27 Jun - though the 20,000 samples could run out sooner, so go quick. Just ask for a free 5-10min skincare consultation and you can then choose one of three free Benefit samples.
You can exchange any brand of skincare product (eg, cleansers, toner, moisturiser), for one of the following Benefit samples (we've worked out the 'worth' price based on the cheapest full-size equivalent we could find):
Triple Performing facial emulsion, 8.9g (worth £3.80)
Potent eye cream, 3g (worth £5.10)
Instant Comeback facial serum, 8.9g (worth £10.68)
Note: You are under no obligation to take any advice from your consultation or purchase anything to get your freebie, so beware of being upsold.
There are about 7,000 of each sample available, spread across all Boots stores with a Benefit counter (larger stores will have more stock). It's one per customer per visit and you can choose whichever sample you want (subject to availability), but if you have more than one skincare item to exchange, several trips are possible. You don't need to book a consultation.ally.0 -
Thanks for the tip, Almostthere78! I will have to check that out.0

Welcome to all the newbies
Thanks, FizzWhizz, for starting us off again :-)
VALM - I'm so sorry about Sophie and that you had to make such a heartbreaking decision.I hope that Smudge is able to adapt to life without her. I had no idea that rabbits could 'hide' illness in that way.
I'm in again this month. I've sorted the toiletries at the end of the bath so they look more appealing/manageable. (I put about half aside in a box so that it looks less cluttered. I will cycle new things in as things are UU or I get bored
) I pulled out some things to add to my skincare target box. My main skincare challenge - I'd like to be better at using face masks this month.
I've also changed my makeup basket. I'm finding it tricky to get my base right so I'm allowing myself to chop and change those. I'm targeting three palettes:
The first is an old YSL palette that has a good setting powder, a beautiful blush, six eyeshadows (four of which are pretty awful colours ) and three lip colours. I'd love to finish the good bits of this palette this year.
I also want to get more use out of my Laura Mercier double decker palette from Christmas 2012. I'm struggling with the 8 eyeshadows as they are quite dusty. I like the 5 lip glosses and 4 cream products though. I feel guilty that this doesn't get used that often and would love to finish the cream products this year.
Lastly, I'm targeting my one of my favourite palettes - the Laura Mercier mini palette from the same collection. This eyeshadows in this are gorgeous! Much better quality but sadly much smaller. There are 3 eyeshadows and one liner cake, a lip gloss, a beautiful blush and a bronzer that I can't make work. I'm targeting this as I have an awful habit of 'saving' favourite things and I'm working hard to overcome that! :rotfl:
I've become very aware of wanting to UU cream/liquid products having watched lots of Project Pan videos. In that vein, I have an annoying TA today:
L'Oreal Lumi Magique Pure Light Primer - WNBA as I could only use it as a highlighter. Quite miffed it has split/gone off as it isn't that old.
I'm also cross with myself for saving things for 'best'. I went to use my once HG Origins mineral foundation and it just didn't work for me. My skin has changed, not the product. It was discontinued so I stopped using it but I just should have enjoyed it whilst it was my HG. I'm trying hard to overcome this but it's a deeply set instinct/habit.
Sorry for the long post. I'm working out a lot of things at the moment! :rotfl: Changing habits can be an uphill struggle, as I'm sure we all know...0 -

Is there any chance you have rosacea? I'm sorry if I've asked before. My Mum really suffered with what she thought were spots on her cheeks and tried all sorts of skincare (most far too harsh ). She finally went to see the Doc and a couple of rounds of tablets (not sure what
) and some very gentle skincare sorted it out. (It improved very quickly but took quite a while to clear completely.) I hope you find something that helps soon. Xx

My first UU today - I'm so happy :j
1. Ren Clarimatte T-Zone Control Cleansing Gel 150ml
This seems to have been almost finished FOREVER but I did have a two week break from it following the threading incident! Will probably buy again one day but in the meantime will replace it with a 10ml Janjira Pomegranate and Acai Facial Cleanser sample from my stash which should only last maybe a week tops. Hopefully it won't irritate my still slightly sensitive face0 -
Thanks for starting us off Fizz and welcome to everyone new to this challenge.
Love seeing all the PPs and make up baskets. I am very nosy
Glad you had a lovely trip maddiemay, it sounds lovely. Really pleased to hear your skin difficulties have improved and that you have found a skincare routine that is working for you :T
Sorry to hear about your sore skin Deleted_User. I am no skincare expert but I have read that it is really important to keep your skin hydrated even if you have oily skin/spots. I always thought this was strange but I think it can help. I currently have a few huge spots but my skin has been better recently. I have found a gentle 'acid' toner can help alongside moisturising serums.
Willowbee, it sounds like you are doing really well with trying to use things. I know it can be really difficult to use things that you feel are for 'best'. I do this with lots of things too, particularly make up and clothes. I think it is a slow but rewarding process of starting to change these habits.0 -
First UU for June
1) 3 x 100ml of JLS body lotion that came with the perfumes. Finally used this up after a couple of months. Made this into a DIY body scrub/body conditioner after using it for a while and realising I didn't like it. Don't think my skin likes any of the lotions that you get with perfumes. WNBA.0 -
Welcome to all newbies and thanks for starting us off again this month FizzWhizz.
Apologies for my recent absence, I have been trying to keep up with the challenge but I am getting married on Friday and have been very busy trying to make sure everything is organised and under control!
Let's put it this way, I've always been a last minute kind of girl and nothing much changes.....
Hopefully I'll be able to get back into the swing of things over the next few weeks.Time may be a great healer, but it's a lousy beautician....0 -

Have a fabulous day.
KT2802/Willowbee - I can be the same with keeping things for best but I am trying too. I feel comforted to know those things are there.
My 11 year old DD asked me to cut open her tube of hand cream this morning - she has been trained well.
Deleted_User - did you not fancy trying my honey cleanser remedy - it really is very effective and calming?Debt Free and now a saver, conscious consumer, low waste lifestyler
