  • Thanks to everyone who has tried to help. People are so kind,
I've been asking and looking about re conversions but at the moment I think a pre built motorhome is going to be a better idea.
I'm going to ask my mortgage people to see what they can offer. So I'm still looking x

Just in case you do go down the caravan route, check your license is valid to tow it!

    http://www.campingandcaravanningclub.co.uk/helpandadvice/gettingstarted/newtocaravans/towingandthelaw/

There's a gradual tightening of the regs on towing, which is frankly no bad thing, and if you've been driving a while you're probably fine... but just in case :-)
  • Converting your own panel van is not too difficult and gets you exactly how you want it. We have just finished a VW T5 last year and love it.

Look at something like a VW Crafter and you will get the height to walk around and a shower and toilet inside. I would not suggest a smaller T5 with your older parents as it is more like camping due to no shower onboard etc and lack of headroom unless you go for a high top.

We bought the vehicle and got a converter to professionally convert it for us with everything we needed.

    Hope you get sorted.

    Xx

Possible a second hand, just like cars they depreciate as soon as they leave the forecourt. Also you can find good low mileage vans on the market. I was looking recently around £25K and there was a lot out there, may give an indication as to potential negotiability o price if you find some you like. Also well kept due to age of owners !
Debt is a symptom, solve the problem.
