we were offered a mortgage by post office about 3 weeks ago.
didn't notice at the time but there is a spelling mistake in my partners middle name.
only noticed when I picked up contract from sol on Friday.
ive contacted L&C who arranged the mortgage for us but being a weekend wont get a reply until tomorrow.
what happens now? will BOI redo credit checks on my partner with correct name?
its a very unusual name and she never uses it, also the initial is correct.

It will usually have to be re-scored and a new offer issued.I am a mortgage broker. You should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. Nationwide did similar to us, they forgot to include my middle name and this was picked up by my solicitor, is going back to be re-scored. Bit of a pain as I'm already a nationwide customer and they have all my details. Grrr. Good luck.0

Personally I'd keep quiet if the solicitor doesn't have a problem.0

solicitor never spotted it, even with our IDs. L&C never spotted it either, they also had paperwork with names on,
not blaming them, I should have spotted it earlier on.0 -
offer still stands, lender is sending a cover letter to solicitors0

The Halifax got my name wrong way round. Solicitor noticed this and she said she is chasing the lender to get the amendments done. Dont know how long this will take and wonder whether they have to do it everything top to bottom.0
