I worked for a care home for a short period, 2 days were training (so called) and I did two shifts, I handed in my notice due to me offered more shifts in a different home, ive only been paid for 2 shifts, now these 2 induction/training days were not sat in an office doing paperwork, I was on the wards working. the director has said he is not paying for the 2 induction/training days, due to me not staying. can he do this??

I was with one other carer, shadowing but working as they are so short staffed.0

Probably? I am in the process of starting to work for a care home myself. I had to pay 65 pounds "deposit" which I get back after the 3 month probation. But in case something doesn't work out (like in your case) they keep it to cover the DBS check, uniform, and training costs.
Also did they say it was paid training or not before you started?0
