So my current role in sales i work 12 hour shifts it works out around 16 days per month or 40 hours per week.
I earn around 17k + bonus which is uncapped for a large well known company and im in a call centre taking inbound sales calls.
I have an interview for another large well known company but the wage is 14k + uncapped bonus working 12-9pm during the week and some weekends.
It comes with company car, mobile and tablet and is a field sales role visiting customers.
Ive never done field sales before but im just wondering what people views are or experience and if you think its worth the pay cut in terms of basic wage for this?

Outbound and inbound very different, you probably don't need me to tell you that so it's a toughie
Have you looked up company figures on something like duedil? Really look in the background0 -
I havent but i will check it out on there. Im with EE at the moment and its a move to Virgin. Obviously inbound at the moment where as the virgin role is field based and face to face and the leads are warm leads so its not just randomly banging on doors.0

its tough because of the basic pay drop and aulthough i hit bonus every month i like the safety net of knowing my basic covers me if i was to miss bonus.0

possibly missbiggles1 but usually with jobs that involve a car you also pay tax on it i believe. If i get the role its going to be the kind of questions i ask and also wether or not i get a fuel card and wether or not its for personal use. i think these might be a big factor in my decision.0

lets start with what attracted you to apply for the Virgin job in the first place?0

The role, i want to go in to field sales for the experience as id ideally like to move up in this area or move in to an account management role. I feel the experience from this would help. I suppose when you put it that way i should really be ignoring the wage and looking long term

I appreciate that but you also pay for buying/running a car of your own out of taxed income, so it's much the same.0 -
true, it just depends on wether it can be used for personal use, if not this then becomes an expense rather than a benefit as id have to keep my own car aswell. suppose ill know better once i have all of the info
