Xmas - start your shopping now

Hi all
Just had an email through from the Book People. They are now doing their lucky dip deal again. But this time it is 10 books for £7! And they have divided the genders too, unlike last time, when some of the books were a bit too girly or boyly (is that a word?) for the intended audience.

I found that they were great books, and not what I would necessarily normally buy, so the boys got something a bit unusual!

The link is

Sorry I don't know how to make it shorter!
And to note I don't get anything for this! It is not a referrers link!

Hope you find something handy

No this is not a book club. I did the lucky dip gosh I can't remember when now, before I had DS2 anyway (who is 3). I got books from them for a while because they were such good presents. But there is no minimum sign up as far as I can remember.

    Edit
Just found their about us page here

which confirms there is no obligation to buy

I've just got their email and was really tempted too - I've ordered quite a bit off their website, in fact got my dad 2 books for his birthday, both hardbacks, for £5 in total rrp was near £40 and he was thrilled with them both - you can get cashback through Rpoints and probably some other sites too. They're also one of those companies which brings books into offices for you to buy, which I've done a couple of times too. Definitely no commitment although if you order from them a certain number of times you get some kind of bonus I believe. I'll be looking at my present budgets over the weekend and thinking about this.

I know that there will be some that my DS's will like and they can be a good distraction at times. Plus there are a couple of people that it is family political to buy for, but I am not too fussed with so they can have something I don't want out of the adult luck dip!

  • Thanks for this. I have just checked and you can go through quidco too for cashback.

I feel a bit bad at posting this as it's such a great price anyway but try this for free postage, it worked for me last week:

Just placed the order for 2 x £7 lucky dips (thanks Chev - great idea!), and applied the discount jo1972 gave - worked perfectly, got free standard P&P. And I even remembered to go through Quidco. Will I rot in hell?!!

They also have a nice Beatrix Potter audio CD selection for £16.99 - didn't buy as I'm on a budget (!) but would be a lovely baby or toddler gift.

Thanks all - lets hope that something out of the 10 is suitable for awkward uncle in 70's!!!
