BSH (Neff, Siemens, Bosch) fiasco

Options
Anyone in the middle of a new kitchen is probably facing this and likewise anyone who's ordered an oven in the past 4-8 weeks.

In April BSH launched entirely new oven ranges for Bosch, Siemens and Neff and also discontinued their old single ovens. There've been a lot of tv ads, industry ads and tradeshow appearances showing off their new appliances.

They're entirely unable to supply 90%+ of those new ovens and cannot give any dates or estimates as to when they'll be able to. While they're not giving information out and are chosing to leave customers in the dark, it seems to be affecting everything but the bottom of the line models.

A few of the KBB magazines have been loosely covering it but obviously don't want to panic customers into not ordering new kitchens (though for me, in hindsight, i'd have put off my new kitchen to Autumn/next year rather than go 6 (?) months without any ovens). While my kitchen designer/fitters have been great at chasing info down and i'm confident they'll supply me with an oven to get by with, albeit not the ones i've ordered, this is probably the worst product launch in the industry.

In the limited Q&A at kandbnews.co.uk, the BSH CEO implies the delay is because of excess demand, except if that was the case then the ovens would be going out, just not keeping up with demand. I've contacted over 30 retailers and Kitchen companies across the UK and none are able to supply, all of them have customers waiting for ovens (or have pulled the ovens from sale so as not to leave people waiting) and many kitchen design companies have holes in their showrooms with photographs instead of ovens to display.

In short, if you're planning on a new kitchen this Summer and you were considering Neff, Siemens or Bosch (which is pretty much the entire mid-range market in the UK), you might want to put it off for a while.

I ordered ovens at the end of May 2015 and I am still waiting with no idea when they will arrive. I noticed Bosch were giving compensation if you had 3 or more appliances on order. You could download a claim form from this site thegassuperstore.co.uk/bosch-neff-siemens-product-delay but it appears to be no longer available. Does anyone have any information?

There is a very serious ongoing problems with BSH oven supply and the current wait list if between 8 and 16 weeks.

The compensation was available only to certain set of customer and wasnt a blanket compensation offer as such.

If you dont mind, buy other brands. Dont waste your time waiting for BSH and the situation could get worse.

I am annoyed at the delay from Bosch and the lack of information provided by my retailer. But it makes it worse to find some customers are able to get compensation. It should be available to all customers in the same position.
  • I've ordered Bosch series 8 ovens for a kitchen refit in October, fingers crossed they arrive!

I'm told 'They're coming through now...'

...but this is the least of my worries, as I've many works to coordinate before winter, so cooking in my old integrated oven, now sitting in the conservatory on bricks, is but a part of life's rich tapestry.

Day 74 since ordering and still waiting. i have been told on two different occasions they are in transit from Germany. I didn't realise Germany was so far away. Also the retailer suggested the delays at Calasis were not helping. Lots of different excuses but no ovens or microwave yet. I would take any dates given with a pinch of salt

I'm in the same boat here. Ordered half-a-dozen new Siemens appliances for a new kitchen back in April. It cost a small fortune and I'm still waiting for one of the ovens almost half a year later.

It's so frustrating not having an oven and Siemens don't appear to be able to give me a meaningful update. I was originally told the outstanding appliance - oven model CN678G4S1B - would be delivered in September. Now I'm being told it'll be at some point before the end of November!

I've received one of my new Neff ovens. It's fine.... almost, but one of the slidey-out runners is sticky. I'm led to believe that the previous manufacturer of these went bust, hence the delays.

I have another oven still in the showroom, so when that's delivered, all my BSH appliances will be here. :)

About 8 weeks wait for the full complement.

The ironic thing is Neff won KBB's "supplier of the year"
If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

Meepster - Lets not get started on that one. Its been a bloody joke made worse by a complete lack of meaningful communication.
